See your home in 3D and control it at your fingertips: what home automation changes in 2026 in Québec
Try it: click a room.
Visual demo: no data is sent; nothing is measured. The real Connected 3D Home controls your lights, blinds and heating from your Home lab.
Connected 3D Home is not in service yet. It is coming soon. First clients in early 2027. This article explains the idea before launch: what the service includes, what home automation changes in a home or on business premises in Québec, and what we do not do. The service is quoted, and it all starts with a free Discovery meeting.
1. A home you can see, instead of a pile of apps
A thermostat, light bulbs, plugs, a camera at the door. Each device comes with its own app, and to turn down the heat and then switch off a lamp, you jump from one screen to another. Linking these devices so you can control them in one place is what we call home automation.
Home Assistant is free, open-source home automation software that runs in your home. It links devices from different brands in a single interface. What you see in it then depends on how it is built: a list of buttons, or the home itself.
In my opinion, this is what changes in 2026: the dashboard stops being a list of switches. It shows the home in three dimensions, and you touch a room to act on it. For a shop, a workshop or a farm, the same idea applies to the building.
2. What the service includes
Connected 3D Home is a service, not a file to download. DRAK Infinity comes to you and does the work from start to finish:
- a visit and a survey of your home or building;
- building its 3D model in Home Assistant;
- installing, as an option, a wall-mounted tablet billed separately;
- connecting your existing devices: lighting, heating, blinds, cameras, plugs and sensors;
- a 3D dashboard where you touch each room to act.
The model is built on a free base for 3D models, published under the MIT licence. Its licence is cited in our credits, and its copyright notice will accompany every installation. We did not invent it; our work is to adapt it to your home and to link it to your devices.

3. Two offers, a quote for each place
The Individual offer is for a house or a dwelling: rooms, lighting, heating, blinds, plugs, cameras. The Business offer is for a shop, a workshop, a farm or an office. It adds sensors, technical data, remote access and alerts.
Every place is different, so the service has no price list. The detailed quote is provided after the Discovery meeting, which is free and lasts 30 minutes, and the Project launch ($95 CAD launch fee, deducted from the first contract). The wall-mounted tablet is chosen with you and billed separately. Amounts before taxes.
4. Québec data in the dashboard
A Québec home does not exist in isolation. Public bodies publish open data, and a free project called Domo Québec documents how to receive it in Home Assistant. Here is what we plan to integrate, with the status of each source as the project's reference repository describes it.
| Source | What the dashboard can show | Status in the reference repository |
|---|---|---|
| Hydro-Québec | Grid power demand, generation sources and current outages | Working |
| Québec Ministry of the Environment | The air quality index | Working |
| Québec Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable | Images from the roadside cameras | Working |
| Public security and municipalities | Alerts published by the authorities | In development |
5. Where your data is kept
It is the first question people ask, so here is the answer. Your installation runs at your place, on your own network. We do not sell any data, whether yours or your home's. Some devices also communicate with their manufacturer's servers: we identify them with you during the visit.
We recommend a home server to run the whole thing, but we never require one. Our Home lab service is for people who want to keep their data at home.
The monthly follow-up is optional. It will bring updates and remote monitoring, through an encrypted connection between your installation and the DRAK Infinity console, which will receive only technical status information. What passes through that connection, and what does not, will be written in your quote and in the privacy policy before you choose this follow-up. No system is safe from everything: we promise neither invulnerability nor a specific result.
6. The limits
A service has limits, and it is better to know them before deciding.
- It does not replace an alarm system or a smoke detector, which keep their safety role.
- It does not guarantee that every device can be linked. We check this during the visit.
- It does not make you compliant with a law on its own: your obligations, such as those of Law 25 for a business, remain yours.
- It promises neither energy savings nor a specific result. It brings your devices together in a single dashboard.
7. Where the project stands
Honestly, the service is not offered yet. The date remains “First clients in early 2027.” Nothing more precise for now.
Two things are possible right now. Leave your email to receive a single message the day it opens. Or book a free 30-minute Discovery meeting to talk it over.
